Hello! My name is Nana and I am an interdisciplinary social scientist, policy analyst, and advocate with over a decade's worth of experience across the federal government, nonprofit, philanthropy, and K-20 education sectors. I specialize in mixed methods research and analysis of social policy and civic engagement and advocacy.
As a program analyst at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), I lead team efforts on fair housing data accessibility and usability projects and initiatives. I draft, edit, finalize, and coordinate policy and technical assistance products and projects. I also review and analyze legislative proposals based on the Department's overall goals and program needs to ensure that there is no negative impact on existing fair housing policies or legislation.
I am also the founder and owner of Diaspora Praxis, LLC, where I conduct interdisciplinary, mixed methods research and analysis. I develop engaging and compelling concepts and deliverables to achieve client objectives. I write compelling content and copy in a variety of formats to support research and analysis, writing and copywriting, marketing needs.
In my previous roles as a policy manager at the National Domestic Violence Hotline and Black Alliance for Just Immigration, I tracked legislative activities, provided policy expertise on key issues, and led strategic digital media strategy for advocacy campaigns. I am a skilled writer and communicator with extensive experience in public affairs, technical writing, and user experience research.
